Mamahuhu
Sustainable, delicious, and affordable Chinese-American food is Mamhuhu’s mission. One bite in, I could affirm that they accomplished their mission. This casual eatery is the second restaurant child of Brandon Jew, the local and love chef that started Mister Jiu’s restaurant in Chinatown.
With a small menu offering both vegan and meat options, there is something for everyone on this menu. I ordered the Mushroom Mapo Tofu and the tingle of the schezuan peppercorns hooked me just one bite in. The food here is surprising, flavor-packed, and filling, but not heavy.
Mamahuhu offer affordable combos, including combo #1, which includes a main, side of rice, and wok’d seasonal vegetables. They also have an adorable color-coordinated outdoor seating area so you can feel safe eating outdoors if you are not ready to experience indoor dining.
